Please note: While VAFF will attempt to match volunteers with requested schedules times and duties, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met. The VAFF Volunteer Coordinator will confirm your shift schedule and duties prior to the Festival. Feel free to check below as many boxes as you like.
Pre-Festival
Poster/Program Distribution
Help deliver program guides to specific locations around the Lower Mainland (access to vehicle an asset).
Media/Marketing
Assist with the festival's media, marketing, and publicity efforts.
Office Duties
Entering information into spreadsheets, making calls, etc. Must be comfortable using basic computer programs.
Festival
Ticket Table
Answer questions from festival-goers, sell tickets/membership cards, handle PayPal orders, issue tickets to passholders. Must be able to deal well with the general public.
Host/Hostess
Direct patrons to correct lines, lead filmmakers/VIPs to theatre.
Usher/Ticket-Taker/Ticket-Checker
Direct patrons to available seats, collect ticket stubs, make sure all individuals entering theatre have both membership and tickets, help clean up theatre.
Audio/visual assistant
Help to set up audio/visual equipment and monitor them while films are playing.
Membership Sign-Up
Ensure all patrons in lines have a membership card, help patrons fill out forms.
Greeter
Greet guests and keep the box office in order. Must be outgoing, friendly, and helpful, with the ability to make quick decisions. Preference will be given to experienced volunteers.
Post-Festival
Data Entry
Enter information from Membership Forms into spreadsheets. Must be comfortable using basic computer programs.

We require volunteers to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts of approximately 3.5 hours each. Volunteers must also attend a volunteer meeting/training session.
