    MAMM 2008 ADJUDICATION PANEL

Discover the deciders for MAMM 2008. Four industry professionals will adjudicate both the pitch session and the final film submissions:

    Kathy Leung
    Director of Programming
    Vancouver Asian Film Festival

Kathy Leung has been involved with independent film since 2002 in various roles from director and writer to all-around go-to gopher girl. Currently, she is the Director of Programming at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival. Her scripts have been selected for Whistler International Film Festival’s Short Scripts Competition and Citytv’s CineCity Initiative. She also co-produces Scripting Aloud, a monthly pan-Asian script reading series.

    Sandra Murphy
    Producer, Shaw Multicultural Channel
    Shaw Cablesystems, Vancouver

Sandra Murphy’s television background spans more than 20 years and has taken her both behind the scenes as a camera operator and editor, and in front of the camera as an anchor and reporter. In her role as producer for Shaw Multicultural Channel, she works with independent producers, assesses program proposals and coordinates scheduling and promotions, and further indulges her creative passion through web and print design projects.

    Baljit Sangra
    Producer
    Vivamantra Films Inc.

Baljit Sangra is a graduate of the UBC Film Program. Sangra has worked as a director-producer for a number of different programs, including the arts and entertainment series VIVA! for Citytv Vancouver and Channel M for several seasons. Her most recent documentary, Warrior Boyz, is a co-production with the National Film Board in association with Canwest Media and will air in the fall of 2008 on Global Currents.

    Cheyanne Turions
    Program Manager
    Cineworks Independent Filmmakers’ Society

As a lover of poetic words + pretty sounds, Cheyanne’s work centres around encouraging and creating artifacts of both with wild creativity. Formally trained as a philosopher, self-taught as a facilitator of ideas, an organizer of structured discussions and a nit-picker of language. Getting things done is most fun when brought about with friends and thus her work tends to be realized through intimate collaborations with gross conflicts of interest.
