MAMM 2009 Awards Top 3 At Gala Event Aug 29
VAFF celebrated another successful MAMM event with a full slate of 15 teams at the starting line with one extra team waiting in the wings. The SOLD OUT screening event took place at Cinemark Tinseltown Theatres with a long rush ticket line up. The party carried on to Kentizen Fusion Lounge as filmmakers, team members and MAMM audience mingled and swapped stories from the trenches.
The top prize of $1000 and Cinework prizes brought out the creative juices in all the teams. Judges noted incredible improvements from returning teams, reinforcing VAFF’s mandate to provide an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to hone their craft.

- All tickets are non-refundable.
- The Tinseltown theatre is smaller than in previous years. There are only 188 seats and given that we have 14 teams in competition, we expect that it will sell out. Please buy your tickets for the first screening as soon as possible to avoid missing the awards presentation and the after-party.
- There are a limited number of After-Party tickets available for those who cannot attend the 7:00 PM Gala Screening but still want to celebrate with the various teams. The After-Party begins at 9:30 PM. You may purchase these tickets below.
- A 2nd public screening later at 9:45 PM has been added for friends & family & team members who could not attend the first screening. You may purchase these tickets below.

VANCOUVER, BC (July 14, 2008) – The Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon (MAMM), the Lower Mainland’s only annual short film contest with a declared diversity angle, enters its fourth successful year with a new direction this August in association with the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF), Shaw Multicultural Channel, and the Cineworks Independent Filmmakers’ Society. MAMM runs from August 10 to 26. Entry deadline is August 8.
