PROGRAM 3 – FRIDAY NIGHT FEATURE: BIG IN BOLLYWOOD
7:15 PM
CINEPLEX ODEON INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE CINEMAS
Stereotypes are battled within and without. BIG IN BOLLYWOOD takes us on the ultimate joy ride as an American-Indian actor is suddenly thrust into the exciting but mostly foreign culture of his homeland but experienced as a new rising Bollywood star. Growing up in California did not prepare him for the culture readjustment he faces in India re-learning his language and being instantly recognized on the streets. POST-RACIAL perfectly dramatizes the writer’s struggle as his own Asian stereotypes rise up during the writing process and how he reacts to them.
