VAFF
The Vancouver Asian Film Festival Society (VAFF) is a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for independent North American Asian filmmakers to showcase their work to both Asian and non-Asian audiences.
Meet the VAFF Team!
Mission Statement
To foster an understanding and appreciation of today’s independent North American Asian filmmakers, while providing a springboard to larger film festivals.
The society endeavours to represent the often ignored North American Asians caught between two cultures. The Vancouver Asian Film Festival Society will provide a cultural bridge between the Asian and non-Asian communities as well as the Asian communities themselves.
VAFF MEMBERSHIP
Admission to VAFF screenings (unless specifically noted) is limited to those over 18 years of age holding a valid VAFF membership card.
2009 / 2010 Annual Membership – $2
As a registered non-profit society, the Vancouver Asian Film Festival screens films that have not been reviewed by the B.C. Film Classification Board. Under B.C. law any person wishing to see these unclassified films must be a registered member of the Film Festival Society and be 18 years of age or older. Membership period is valid until November 1, 2009 to October 31, 2010.
Unless you are a pass-holder, please carry your membership card with you at all times. You will be required to show your card at every screening you attend. If you cannot produce a valid membership card, we’re afraid we must ask you to purchase another one at that time.
Please note that certain films suitable for younger audiences may have been classified, and so, people under 18 years old may attend these without being a member.
