It is the advice of parents, counselors and pop songs everywhere: “you need to learn to love yourself before loving anybody else”. It’s a ubiquitous but hard lesson to learn for Grace Tang in FALLING FOR GRACE who gets mistaken for someone she thinks is better than herself and keeps the ruse up to impress her love interest. In REMEMBER THE DAYS, Michael is bullied but finds solace in a friendship with Nancy, a fellow outcast. The characters in these films remind us that happiness only comes with being happy with you.

Narrative | 35mm | Colour | 2006 | 105 minutes | USA
Grace Tang (Fay Ann Lee) is an Ivy League-educated investment banker from New York’s Chinatown who falls in love with blue-blooded New York scion, Andrew Barrington, Jr. (Gale Harold, QUEER AS FOLK). The only problem is that he, and just about everyone else in his family and immediate social circle, thinks that she’s “THE Grace Tang,” a wealthy heiress from Hong Kong. Against the backdrop of the pressures of Wall Street and the human side of Chinatown, a whirlwind of romance and a comedy of errors ensues. When Grace and Andrew’s worlds finally collide, Grace re-discovers her own identity and what really matters in life. Featuring a star-studded cast, including Margaret Cho, (ALL AMERICAN GIRL), Ken Leung (X-MEN), Elizabeth Sung (THE JOY LUCK CLUB), Clem Cheung (A BEAUTIFUL MIND), Tony award-winning actress, Christine Baranski (THE REAL THING), and Tony award-winning actor, Roger Rees (NICHOLAS NICKLEBY), FALLING FOR GRACE is a thoughtful and entertaining romantic comedy not to be missed.
